Focus and Scope

AI-Linguistica. Linguistic Studies on AI-Generated Texts and Discourses is an international peer-reviewed journal devoted to the linguistic study of generated texts and discourses. It accepts original articles devoted to generated texts and discourses in all areas of linguistic research. AI-Linguistica publishes studies on all languages, with a special focus on Romance and Germanic languages.

Typology of contributions

AI-Linguistica publishes two types of articles: short-length articles (between 3'000 and 6'000 words) and full-length articles (between 8'000 and 15'000 words). It also publishes reports on methodologies and tools to collect and analyze generated texts and discourses. Proposals to publish data collections (raw, annotated etc.) can be considered as well.

AI-Linguistica publishes articles written in English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish.

Peer review process and publication

Each proposal submitted for publication in AI-Linguistica. Linguistic Studies on AI-Generated Texts and Discourses is peer-reviewed by two external reviewers. The reviewing process takes place in the form of a double-blind peer review. Based on the reviewers' reports, the editors decide whether to accept (with minor or major revisions) or reject the publication proposal submitted. Authors shall receive the editors' decision no longer than 8 weeks after their submission.

Articles are published on the journal's website as soon as they are accepted and ready for publication. Articles written in a language other than the author's mother tongue must be proofread by a native speaker.

Open Access Policy

AI-Linguistica. Linguistic Studies on AI-Generated Texts and Discourses is a Diamond Open Access journal. All content is published under a Creative Commons License (CC-BY 4.0-NC-SA), at no costs for the authors. The content is freely accessible to readers. This license enables reusers to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format for noncommercial purposes only, and only so long as attribution is given to the creator. If you remix, adapt, or build upon the material, you must license the modified material under identical terms. CC BY-NC-SA includes the following elements:

  • BY: credit must be given to the creator.
  • NC: Only noncommercial uses of the work are permitted.
  • SA: Adaptations must be shared under the same terms.

The journal is only available online. There are no printed issues. All published articles are available in PDF format.

All accepted manuscripts are published continuously during the year, without being divided into issues. 

Statement on Sponsoring

AI-Linguistica and its website refrain from commercial advertising. AI-Linguistica is a Diamond open access journal, it does not charge publication or reading fees. The costs for DOI and web hosting are covered by SLUB Dresden. The work of all editors and the production team is voluntary.
